There is a popular belief that the Euro is the currency of Portugal but I'm not to sure. During a recent flight to Prague the stewardess (Cabin Crew, Flight Attendant or whatever) said that refreshments could be paid for in Sterling, Czech Koruna or SPANISH Euros!
