A former Super Eagles captain, Austin Okocha, will on Thursday (today) in Warri say farewell to the game that has brought him fame and fortune.

The former Bolton midfielder hosted his former colleagues to a dinner in Lagos on Wednesday as part of preparation for the novelty match.

The testimonial match will involve a World X I and the Super Eagles. A number of Eagles stars, including the captain Nwankwo Kanu, Joseph Yobo, John Utaka, Vincent Enyeama, Dele Aiyenugba, Ike Uche and Taye Taiwo are expected to be in Warri for the match.

Former Wimbledon striker, John Fashanu, is one of the players expected on parade.

Also, ex-internationals, Victor Ikpeba, Garba Lawal, Ben Iroha, Austin Eguavoen, Christian Chukwu and Segun Odegami are due in Warri to feature in the programme.

African stars like Ghana?s Sulley Muntari, who arrived on Tuesday, will join other invited players from all parts of the world to feature for the World XI.

Michael Essien of Ghana, Emmanuel Adebayor of Togo, Didier Drogba of Cote d?Ivoire, Rigobert Song, Patrick Mboma and Samuel Eto?o of Cameroun are also expected to join the world team.

It was learnt that Okocha also invited some English players he played with at Bolton for the event.

Eagles coach, Shaibu Amodu, will handle his team while Eguavoen is expected to coach the World X1.

The event is organised by the Delta State Government to honour the former PSG player who served the country for 12 years.

Don't tell him.
