Firemen - Worse Than Council Workers?

Featured Replies

They get bigger pay rises than local government workers, that's for sure

Who does? Statistics please or is this just a random mumble?

Edit = By the way, and for your info., Fire Brigade Union accepted 2.45% last month. This is the figure declined by Unison.

What happened to the 75%, or whatever that c?nt was after a couple of years ago?

What did you settle at?

The union was asking for pay parity with police I think. This meant we were asking for an annual wage of ?30k. The public were ok with this because, I presume, they thought we were already on fairly close to that anyway. The Govt. then spun it to read that we had asked for a 40% pay rise. The media, not the public, suddenly decided we were greedy bastards. They could just as easily have gone along the lines of asking why firefighters were on such low wages considering the job they do. (I know building sites are more dangerous but I'd say that's down to a lack of adequate training in a lot of cases).

We settled at 16% i think spread over 3 years. This June was the first re-negotiated pay rise since then.

Getting back to fat bloke.

Aren't the majority of Fire Brigade callouts for RTAs these days?

Maybe they should set up units made up of those not fit enough to do the whole towering inferno thing to cover these.

Fat f?cker - what use is a fireman who can't see his own d?ck anyway.

If the Union bloke is right and there isn't any set policy, I'd say the Fire Service are on very rocky ground sacking him.

It's very difficult to defend him though. Like Smiffs said, if it was drink or drugs he wouldn't have a leg to stand on. I don't really see a difference in this case.

It winds me up when you see fat Plod wobbling around too. Stealing a living.

He could become Welliphant
