He's not even worth 18 million imo and isnt as good as Alonso , they should be looking at better Quality if they want to challenge Utd for the title . Deco @ 8 million and Barry @ 18 doesn't make sence , id take an older Deco anytime , it's just 'cos he's english he cost so much . Thye have Gerrard , Mascherano and Alonso , they need a right winger .

I was just comparing prices that's all . Liverpool have Mascherano for the breaking up of play , im not saying Barry is rubbish as he's proved he isn't but i dont think he'll improve Liverpool that much that means they can challenge for the title .

O'Neill's point about Barry being worth more than Carrick and Hargreaves because he gets in the England team before them is a valid one in my opinion. You could compare prices of players all day long and never achieve anything. Bolton letting Dioufy go for ?2.5m whilst at the same time asking ?3m for Meite was about the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, but players will only go for what the buying club is prepared to pay. Diouff only had 12 month left on contract - sure Meite had more Untried Championship defenders were moving for around ?2.5-?3M so surely starting price for an experienced Prem defender should be same ball park?
