Quick story about this one

SLF were just starting off gigging in Belfast when they were approached by a local music mag who wanted them to write a song especially for the fanzine, which they intended to release as a free flexidisc with the next issue. So Jake Burns went away and wrote a song especially for the magazine, SLF recorded it the next day then sent it off to the fanzine. The following week, Jake gets a telephone call from the fanzine editor telling him it was the biggest pile of sh?te he had ever heard and they had absolutely no intention of ever releasing it as a flexidisc

The song they recorded especially for the flexidisc was Alternative Ulster which went on to easily become SLF's biggest selling track of all time

The fanzine editor went on to become the editor of NME
