Strongest Team...

Would this leave us more exposed at the back with all four midfielders liking to get forward?

I thought Taylor and Gardner were both left sided players?

That should be our team at home at least imo.

Taylor played on the right after Riga went off yesterday and had one of his better games. It will also enable him to cut in and shoot with his left.

That suits him better imo, he finds it hard to get shots away when he is on the left. Should keep Riga for last 20-30 mins when other team may be tiring imo.

Taylor and Gardner are both willing helpers in defence too.

Revised team then?

For home games at least.

Looks good to me.

Bet Gingernut never picks it though!

All well and good, until he comes up against a decent left sided player who forces him onto his wrong foot - and pisses past him with the greatest of ease.

A professional who can't tackle with his "other" foot shouldn't be earning a living from the game.

I am Taylors biggest critic and I was appaulled that Gardner was left out recently to accomodate him [ Ricky's been out best player easily this season and is in the form of his career ] ... BUT I think after watching the effort Taylor put in in the last 20 minutes of the game yesterday he's making me eat my words and I'd say he's now worth his place ON THE RIGHT!

Our shooting is terrible and I honestly include Taylors in that along with Gardner... but for effort, fitness and pace I completely agree with Bobcat/tylswhite and I think these two should be given the wide midfield roles for a spell now.

I was proud of the way the whole team worked yesterday. Bet we ran further, as a team, than any other Premiership team so far this season.

Come on you Whites!

Wow - Taylors shooting as bad as Gardners? Really?

Ricky has surprised me, wasn't a big fan of him in midfield (great fullback mind). He's done well lately though. Samuel has also done much better than I thought he was capable of, he had a very very solid game yesterday.

Hey now I didn't say that! :)

I just think Taylors shooting is way below par. He does shoot an awful lot. But sadly even though he's on target more often than most that tend to be when he's hit a lame one at the keeper.

I'm reluctant to criticise after yesterday though as he impressed me with how hard he worked and despite a bad first half he was very effective in the last 20... coming from me that's massive tribute to Matty. I may even grow to like him one day :)

There are plenty stealing a living.

For home games I think we should be playing 4-4-2

The defence would be as yesterday.

Midfield should be Nolan Mccann in the centre and Taylor Gardner wide.

Muamba could replace Mccann when necessary ie last 15 when he is tired.

Up front should be Davies and either Smolarek or Elmander.

This would give good width when attacking and both Taylor and Gardner are defensively sound.

Riga looks like a good sub to add pace.

muamba is needed in whatever team we put out

we have nobody else like him

once muamba sorts out his final pass he'll be brilliant.

he wins the ball superbly, beats 3 players then falls over the ball or scuffs his shot.

If we can kepp hold of him and Cahill then we've 2 future England internationals on the books

I'm surprised at the many inclusions of Riga and Taylor without any mention of McCann. He was sat pretty deep yesterday allowing Nolan to go forward and we looked more effective as opposed to the brick walls we were running into against Everton.
