Don't forget though that Joey O'Brien has got a full international cap playing centre half for Eire against Germany!

 

 

To my way of thinking Hunt is on big money thanks to Sammy Lee giving him a much-improved contract - but is not fancied by Megson - hence we signed Gretar.

 

We therefore have two right full backs - on top wages - signed for the next two/three years - with only one ever going to play at any one time.

 

Putting it bluntly Hunt needs to be taken off the wage bill so as to pay some incoming players wages - it is not therefore a question as to how good / bad Hunt is or what other positions he can play.

 

Steinsson is Megson's first choice in the right back position so Hunt is to go simply because of how much he is currently earning!

 

Neither Hunt or O'Brien will be regular starters - both Hunt and O'Brien can fill in at right back - O'Brien is much cheaper - O'Brien will be kept, Hunt will be let go - it's simply the economic facts of life these days.
