If it says 'failing to properly display a parking ticket' it may have been upside down. Seriously, it happened to me. Take a photocopy of the ticket and send the original along with a lovely polite letter to the office shown on the ticket.

 

I've had three overturned doing it this way. Don't rant. They don't like it.

You will probably get it over turned no problem but its just one of them shitty things you just dont need isnt it? You should be compensated when these tvvats fuck up, if you do it and forget to buy a ticket etc they all over you after money!

I got one in Bolton for having it on the dash,that even the warden admitted was there, I appealed and filled out a form at the parking place on Chorley St, I got a letter from the council saying, more or less, that this time they would cancel it but as long as i had realised I had committed an offence by failing to display it in the windscreen, as this is what it clearly states on the reverse of the ticket, and that my details were on record and I wouldn't be able to appeal another one! I sent a nice letter back with a copy of the display ticket on which it says "clearly on the dashboard or windscreen" , I asked them where would I display it if I was in a vehicle without a windscreen, (like one of them buggies or a kit car or sommat),and finished off by saying to tell me I have no longer any right to appeal future tickets, considering the sham of this one, is more than likely contravention of my statutory rights as i am a customer of the car park,who purchases a service for one thing and most definitley is bullshit for another.

I am still waiting for a reply from that letter.

by the way, I really don't know if that is the legal situation regarding my right to appeal, I just thought I'd put it any way, and my advice is to challenge it as they seem to rely ioon peoples apathy in these situations.

Problem solved, no tickets ever again

I sent a calmly written email to the company explaining the situation and was baffled as to why I had recieved the ticket, I have recieved a letter this morning to tell me that my appeal was successful and that there were a lack of signage as to which pay and display machine is for which car park leaving me fine free and on my guard next time

I'd sooner be a tax collector.

And spray it a different colour every time I go out

There's just been a landmark case down here and one of the London councils (think it was Lewisham). Looks like nearly all the tickets they have issues recently have been unlawful because the added a compulsory surcharge for using a credit card. All the London authhorities are now bricking it as it could cost them millions
