New Contracts

kevin davies and matt taylor both agreed to extending contracts. lets hope cahill follows suit. this may go some way to encouraging others to come with a bit of quality, rather than the likes of going for mido

25 million would be nice.if thats the only way to tie him down, and if any clauses with villa get rid of it if we can

You will prob have to pay Villa 15% of an profit you make.

So you will prob end up paying Villa ?750k.....and make yourself ?4.25 million profit....!

Not bad....!

At the current value Cahill must be worth in the region of 10 million, if he has another good season and makes an England appearance I would expect the price to rocket to 15 million plus, in one transfer we would could reduce are debt by 1/3rd.

I would already put his value at ?15m plus, and that isn't me just being bias as he is a Bolton player. I would be seriously disappointed if he left for anything less than ?15m, and with another season like the one he has just had, I would not listen to anything under ?20m. Why, when transfer prices have gone so stupid, should we not also stick with the trend and demand high prices for our star players?

Oooohhhh yes it is!!!

One decent season, he has doubled in value, I think thats fair.

He has another good season, then as MK says, ?15 Million!

If Lescott is worth around ?25m, then Cahill is worth at least ?15m.

the thing is Megson knows he isn't liked by a large chunk of the bolton fanbase.

He said it'd take a bid of more than we got for anelka (?15m) for the club to think about selling Cahill

If we sold Cahill for less than that Meggers may as well clear out his desk on the same day as the fans will want his blood

Please don't bring Everton into this ffs.

Im talking Bolton.

So you think Cahill is worth ?2 million less than Glen Johnson, England regular right back with plenty of Champions league experienced.

YOU think he is worth ?15 Mill, because he plays for you. If he played for Villa, you would probably have never heard of him.

Megson is just trying to build some bridge's with the Bolton fans.

It matters not what he thinks a player is worth, its what other teams would be willing to pay, and Cahill is not worth ?15 Million,

he is probably not worth ?10 million really, and prices for players have got way out of control.

If Toure is worth ?16 million then Cahill is worth ?32 million :good:

It does matter what Megson thinks he is worth, what he is worth to Bolton Wanderers - not other clubs. If Megson values him at ?15 Million and no other club values him at that price then he remains at Bolton Wanderers.

Unless, of course, we need to repay some of the debt.

If, and it's a massive if, a bid of ?15M to ?20M did come in for Cahill, do you think that Megson would be the one to make the decision on if he stayed or went?.........it would lbe taken out of his hands I would imagine

If Toure is worth ?16 million then Cahill is worth ?32 million :good:

Statements like that don't make sense IMO, a player is only worth what somebody is willing to pay for him. Like with the Anelka deal, we all thought he was worth ?18M and up, as it turns out, he was only worth ?15M, as that's all that was bid for him

To be fair my statement was tounge in cheek, but ?16 million for Toure is mental, he is shite :nea:

toure shite?

hmmm

So you think he is a worse player than Zat Knight ?

i wish we had 2 defenders as shite as Toure

So you think he is a worse player than Zat Knight ?

Whats Zat Knight got to do with it ?

We've not just spent ?16 million on Zat Knight, to be fair i've not seen much of Knight over the last 2 years but i've seen a lot of Toure to know he isn't that good. His brother isn't to bad though.

I think that Toure is a decent player, I would certainly like to have him here

Doesn't matter what he cost, you said he was sh?t, you didn't say he was not good for that value.

I bet before you signed Knight, I bet you thought he was sh?t too.
