DARIUS VASSELL hopes Bolton will end his Turkish nightmare in January.

Vassell, who will be available for around ?2million, has attracted interest from West Brom but his links with Aston Villa and desire for Premier League football is likely to lead him to the Reebok.

 

Bolton boss Gary Megson has yet to firm up his interest but with doubts over Johan Elmander's long-term future, he is likely to offer Vassell a deal in January.

 

A source close to the player said: "Darius is not too sure about his future in Turkey now. He is looking at all of his options and would consider moving to Bolton."

Are you saying that we should go for Vassell?

I don't know but I am trying to put into perspective that our transfer targets are limited to certain types (particularly in January).

I would cry if we went for Vassell, no better than Elmander.

OK then. question, which of the following would you prefer?

1) Foreign forward, completely untried at premier league level

2) lower league forward, completely untried at PL level

3) experienced ex PL forward who is lacking confidence/fitness

4) current out of favour PL forward

 

This is the type of forward we will be competing for and option 3 is arguably the least gamble in January!

Vassell isn't any better IMO, he's also just as injury prone

I would rather go for Ping pong's mate over Vassell. Vassell might have more premiership experience but most of it was him being shit. If im being honest I wouldnt go for a striker at all if it was me, the defence needs a full overhaul imo. Id replace all of the defenders apart from Cahill because Samuel is rubbish, Zat Knight is a complete and utter donkey and our two main rightbacks would rather bomb forward than defend.
