Why all the adverts for sofas delivered in time for Christmas. I caught my furniture this morning muttering amongst themselves that Christmas was on the way and we would be getting rid of them and buying a new sofa. It took me ages to reassure them that we wouldn't.

I think it's something folk do to 'impress' the neighbours, family, friends etc. Oh look at us, we're doing really well, we've got new furniture. Maybe if they didn't buy tat in the first place, it wouldn't look worn out & need replacing every couple of years anyway.
