i think bramble is a reasonable defender these days.

Unfounded opinion he isnt that bad a player i think he falls in the David James and Heskey bracket. yes have had some shocking moments but i think that it is in en vouge to call and think that these players are worse than they are i think for 1 million quid Sunderland could do a lot worse, plus i think Bruce is in a better position to comment on the players ability and has put his money where his mouth is.

Agree with all of that. As a young player he made quite a lot of mistakes that were strongly highlighted. He's kept that tag as a poor defender within football fans as he's gone through his career, and now every time he makes a mistake no matter how rare it is, it is again highlighted in the press and he is made out to be terrible. Actually from people that have watched him week in week out he is a good defender and was Wigans player of the season last season. The fact that Bruce wants to take him from his old club is another sign that he is nowhere near as bad as the average football fans thinks he is.
