Confessions of a Window Cleaner

Featured Replies

I was a window cleaner for over 11 years in my younger days, I wore tights through winter, never got round to the sussies though :pardon:

Go on whats the best worst thing you seen then while being a window cleaner!

beat me to it.

Two that spring to mind - working in Great Lever I was 18 and this woman was 36, she used to brew up for me and my mate, one day she said can you clean inside and I'll make it worth your while, after doing the windows and her I left the house, as I was walking down the path her husband was coming home from work early, "have you had your brew" he said cheerfully, I never went again.

Another in Swinton, I cleaned her patio doors inside every fortnight and got paid in kind, went on for about 2 years that one did. Happy days.

I could honestly write a book. :D

Confessions of a cable guy.

Been flashed at twice by women while sorting their phones out.

Had to empty a 'special needs' cupboard when looking for a telco extention.

Bloke had set up his own porn studio in a Bromwich St flat.

Went to a flat in Little Hulton where the bloke was mad as an hatter and he shouted to me from another room while pretending he was a woman.

Little Hulton, I've got some gems from that neck of the woods, cleaning at one house I saw this bloke sat on the floor facing the wall pulling at a crowbar, then I realised it was the gas meter he was having a go at, when I'd finished cleaning his windows I knocked and asked if he wanted to pay me now, he did in 50p pieces fresh from the meter.

I used to be a meter reader in a previous life (about 25 years ago) and went to read the meter at a big old house in the countryside. It was June, cracking the flags and Wimbledon was on and I could hear Dan Maskells gruff tones coming from a window to the right of the front door.

Anyway No matter how hard I knocked I couldn't get an answer so went up to the window to give a knock on it to be greeted by the sight of a man of about 75 cracking one off to Chris Evert vs Martina Navratilova. I just though .... fair play mate if you can get one up at your age you deserve some peace so I left him to it.

A female customer on the Withins estate showed me how to stop the clock spinning in a gas meter, classy bird she was, made a beltin' brew
