Postage Strike

I've had it on good authority that there won't be a postal strike tomorrow.

What are we going to get all hot and bothered about?

Ah but Micky, it says they will go out on or after the 7th, I can't see that many being actually delivered to homes tomorrow, it will be Friday mainly when folk receive them, I hope it's done and dusted before Saturday

if they're going royal mail and they need a sig (which means they'll turn up after everybody has gone to work) and you have to give them 48 hours to get he stuff back for collection, the post office is gonna be mobbed monday tea time

It's 24 hours isn't it? Though my postie signs for my stuff & then gives it the old dear down the road to give to me, bless. I'm sure a jobsworth back at the ranch'd have him sacked.

I'm waiting for something (my P45 and stuff) that needs a signature. Pat must have knocked at the door with a balloon, becuase I didn't hear the fcker. He left a card. I rang Royal Mail and got a recorded message from Mrs. Goggins which amounted to an advert for their services, culminating with "we're experiencing a lot of calls just now . . . ."

Glad our tickets are not coming to mine.

Sounds like my postman. Never knocks just puts a card through telling me I have to wait

24 hours to collect the parcel. I'll catch him one day.

know a girl who works there in that little office there she text me if out goes back there and drops it on way home .its not what you know its who :pardon: p.s cost me a drink when i see her

Edited by little whitt

It is very rare that I take anything back to the office, if it will fit through the letter box I sign it and let the person know that I have done so, if it's 'special delivery' that is a different thing, I only sign for them if I know the person who its for.

Didn't know you were a postie ricky what happened to the day job?

Only on a Saturday mate, 3 and a half years now, pays for England trips.

What does this mean. I wouldn't like to have seen it before he edited it.

oh a popup postie, i see.

Been in meetings today and no strikes planned anytime soon. As a special delivery needs to be signed on a pda very few if any OPGs will sign for these. The p739 left should only allow the time they need to go back to the depot as you cant "pouch off" your pda. If you receive a p739 telling you to go to pick it up it should state half an hour after his duty finises and no more.

Items they leave with 24 and 48 hrs on are items to be pouched off and this WILL NOT APPLY TO FA CUP TKTS. Fact, in the know and all that crap. Relax and await your tkts in next 48hrs :drinks:

No jargon has been used in the above post. We all know what p739, pda, OPG and "pouching off" are don't we.

Pouching off is an explicit homosexual term, apparently.

As mentioned previously though, what about people on holiday Saturday till Saturday? With easter holidays there are a few in that boat. If tickets don't come tomorrow, are they up shit creek?

Yes.

Who in their right mind would go on holiday when there are FA cup semi-final tickets to wait for, disloyal fuckers.

My postman actually knocks with a balloon too, well thats until my dad phoned up and gave them a mouthful. now they knock with a bulldozer.

PDA - POSTAL DIGITAL ASSISTANT

P739 - CALLING CARD

OPG - OPERATIONAL POSTAL GRADE

POUCHING OFF - ANY ITEMS NOT DELIVERED LEFT AT A LOCAL POST OFFICE.

Just trying to stop people worrying for no reason, anyone due tickets will get them. It really is that simple unless on holiday till 16th April after 1 pm then you have shit it big time as items will be locked away till long after we play stoke. Not arsed either way, mine will be with me tomorrow and thats 100% special guaranteed delivery!!!
