A mate briefly worked in Bergeracs when she was a student, we used to go in there just to keep her company/ward off unwanted drunken lecherous advances. Anyway, they had porn on one time and a mate seemed transfixed by the telly, he stared for what seemed like ages at the comings and goings onscreen before loudly declaring

"That seat....the patterns, they're the same - this was filmed in here!!"

He was right an' all - the bar was doubling as a 'gonzo' film studio. The friend of ours quit the job after the owner requested (demanded) that it become a topless gaff, she told him to fuck off in no uncertain terms.

Went a few times in my teens but that was that.

Soon realised anywhere you had to wear trousers wasn't worth going to.

Are we talking Ritzy or Bergeracs? Because, depending on what time of day it was, you'd easily get in Bergeracs with no keks at all. Not being susceptible to 'stage-fright' would also be a plus.

Ritzy's.

Bergerac's was always a black tie affair.

Bergeracs was all about the quadruple vokda and oranges.

I used to have a routine on a thursday

meet in chester moonshines till around 9 ish, that geezer would blow his airhorn for a bottle of bud promo

then wander to bergeracs for cheap cocktails

then a mix of cork's, sam's bar, old three crowns and then ritzy/5th avenue

try and pull a sort in the club, if having no success, frantically wander round the place for the last half hour to find anything with a pulse

and as danny g mentioned, best keks and shoes from either norton barrie with a coloured ralph lauren or ysl coloured cotton shirt

also always keep a pack of spiggy in the back pocket

haha

oh and we always used to see that lad in his pimped up motorised wheel chair in 5th avenue pulling the birds

That light he had on his head was a great help if you weren't sure if you had a fiver or tenner in your hand for the bar.

Yea. the manager of Bergeracs used to make is own porn. Only ever went it because it was so cheap. I used to like Ritzy on a Tuesday, Student Night :blum: . Remember pulling a nice bloke in there once, arranging to see him the week after, and the place burning down .... boooo. Traumatically remember seeing a bloke killing himself jumping off the balcony, and trying to grab the light rig.. I was off my tits on LSD at the time.

Also, those 10 past 2 cop-offs at Sizzles ....

I had a similar set up for a few years.

Thursday night - pre-weekend drink round town until last orders

Friday night - round town then off to downstairs Ritzy as we called it

Saturday night - Ritzy

Sunday night - finish the weekend by either going to the Tavern on the hill, Game bird in Chorley, Bridgewater in Worsley or a combination of Last drop village and the Crofters in Harwood.

Good days!!

about the same how good was the Tavern/Game bird sundays :drinks:

was waiting for my mate to get a kebab in sizzles and a chap stumbled in leaned on the counter and projectile vomited onto the rotating kebab, the guy working there just wiped it off , i didn't stick around to see if he carried on serving it!

Did anyone see the bloke who used to carry the deformed dwarf bloke around like a baby in Ritzy's?

He used to go in quite often.

20 minutes after last orders - now fuck off all of you! :D

It took until 20 mins after last orders for the bar staff to serve us.

That's because 'they' had a rule, serve the good looking ones first. :D

In which case, we were probably:

(i) lucky to get served at all

(ii) served a good 20 mins before LW's mob.

This is ringing a few bells. Did he always wear loud shirts?
