March 5, 201214 yr In need of a windscreen for a transit (non-insurance jobby), anyone recommend anywhere Bolton/Chorley area?
March 5, 201214 yr If you use your insurers, it doesnt affect your No Claims Discount becuase it's just a windscreen. You'd just have to pay your excess, usually ?60 if you use their approved glass repairer/replacer which is usually Autoglass or Auto Windscreens.
March 5, 201214 yr Author Currently not insured (sorn'd and garaged before anyone says). Ethical to insure and then claim straight away?
March 5, 201214 yr In need of a windscreen for a transit (non-insurance jobby), anyone recommend anywhere Bolton/Chorley area? get insured and do it in a few weeks
March 5, 201214 yr It still shows up as a claim though so can affect your future quotes. Find our how much it is for a windscreen first as transit ones are not too bad. Mines cracked atm
March 5, 201214 yr Try Tony Windscreens. He's based in Walkden but he's mobile, used to fit most of ours at A&B. Miserable beggar but bloody good at what he does and reasonable prices: 07831 204269
March 5, 201214 yr http://www.smilewindscreens.co.uk/ford/transit-windscreen dont know if these guys do up here, but going off the price, its not worth claiming and paying your excess.. i know i wont be
March 6, 201214 yr Author Will check the recomendations out. Cheers. The insurance route won't be an option as it's only going to be insured on a 1 week policy to get mot'd then it's up for sale. Not sure Gavin would have enough resin for my crack, ooeer, and I've run out of nitrogen. Plenty of clingfilm though!
