March 14, 201313 yr The last SEMIfinal with an attendance under 10,000 was WBA v Forest in 1892. Even finals were under 10,000 until Blackburn Rovers v Queens Park (the Glasgow one) in 1885 attracted 12,500. Quarter-finals are not so easy to isolate. Port Vale v Leyton Orient in 1954 may not sound attractive but I think there would have been a lot more than 10,000 there.
March 14, 201313 yr As Glossop North End's record attendance was 10,736 for a second round tie v Preston (a North End derby??) I suspect that their home quarter final v Bristol City in 1909 may have been lower than last night (but only may).
