Well in bolty

Cheers S. I hope you were on.

Nice one bolty. He who dares.

Please tell me you had a quid or two on it Crampo?

Well in, Bolty.

Watched it before I went to work this morning - I imagine you made a fair din when Oliver pulled Fiorente out for his run.

Tighter than anticipated? All the more thrilling for it if so.

Red Cadeaux and Mount Athos ran absolute blinders from car park draws.

Enzo - I was massively impressed by Red Cadeaux' run. Enormous. What a warrior he is to travel the world and consistently perform well. He's become the 'nearly man' down here with close seconds yesterday and to Dunaden a few years back. Remarkable performance for his age - his owners must absolutely love him. I would never part with a horse like that. When his racing days were over, he'd be in my back garden!!! Great run by Cumani's horse from that barrier as well. The lovely Francesca has become a household name down here now. Every year she sexes the whole thing up and Aussie blokes start to bar up at the mere sound of her plummy voice. Channel 7 have her on some sort of long term contract now.

Yes, during the race, you could see Ollie angling for a run (and he nearly ran up Simenons arse!) just coming off the turn into the final straight. My heart skipped a beat for a nanosecond and then suddenly, Fiorente's ears were back and he was pulling hard into the firing line. I was with 5 of my colleagues at the time and said only 'I am in here - it is only a question of how far'.

Very strangely, I was very subdued. Normally, I would have been doing cartwheels but I was almost emotionless. As I said to the lads, I had run that race 40 times in my head and envisaged exactly that run and that finish. I just wish my premonitions had given me Red Cadeaux and Mount Athos for the placings!!!
