The BBC make brilliant sit com's for BBC2 and 3. Then they put em on BBC1 have to tone them down and thus make them shit. The American remake of the inbetweeners was teeth itchingly awful.

American remakes of British comedy shows are almost universally bad, the sense of british humour is a lot more sophisticated, and more layered. The rewrites are tailored to a simpler palette, which is why they dont work. However, im of the opinion that the US currently produces far superior drama series.
