When Faye left , we were weakened

Faye is a terrific shout absolute beast of a man.I preferred him in midfield after that magnificent performance against Arsenal but at the end of the day I accept Big Sam knew best and centre half must have been his best role.Of all Sammy Lee's dodgy transfer decisions choosing to let Faye go was the most incompetent.Gartside should have stepped in and had a word with Sammy to stop that imo.Gartside sacked Lee a few weeks later but the damage with Faye had already been done.Allardyce left Lee with Speed, Nolan and Faye for his midfield if he wanted it, its criminal how pisspoor our team was after the summer holidays and training with Sammy

Sam Ricketts would be ideal now for his versatility along the back, Baptiste is looking very uncomfortable down that left channel.

baptiste is easily as good a defender as that stump alonso and has been involved in a few goals - which was all alonso had going for him

I feel sorry for Baptiste with the position he's in, its very obvious that he is predominantly right footed and comes in field quite a lot. Alonso was a poor defender but it got down the touchline well and very attack minded.

Freedman must have upset Baptiste by saying we need a new left back, bad timing after he got ripped at Wigan we all know it but to go public was bad man management.
