I'm fairly sure the butter pie we were discussing was the latter and not the former. I don't think anyone was planning on making one from scratch.

October 22, 20169 yr Would he butter not just melt and go all over the bottom of the oven? I had a pea pie in Spain a few years back. In what turned out to be a catastrophic translation failure, I thought he was telling me it was a meat pie. I bit into it and it was just a crust with about a thousand garden peas in it.
