February 8, 20179 yr Can only recommend you call everyone sonny and wear Italian socks It appears to be the in thing
February 8, 20179 yr I wasn't all that impressed with Melbourne but it was 10 years now since I was there. St Kilda beach area is decent for a day out and Richmond was a decent night out. Other than that, I found the place a bit sterile
February 8, 20179 yr Friends of ours living there recommended we stay in richmond when we go in November. Check out stayz for apartments etc.
February 9, 20179 yr Not sure if the Cheshire set was having a pop at me but, just in case, Pantherellas are English (and a very fine sock they are too. Not suitable for tickets). Now then, heartily recommend Crest Apartments, South Bank (http://www.questapartments.com.au/Accommodation/57/Australia/Melbourne_CBD/Quest_Southbank/Welcome.aspx) or Melbourne Short Stay Apartments (https://www.shortstay.com.au/properties/apartments_southbank_collection.php) which are both in Kavanagh Street and only spitting distance from the South Bank of the Yarra River where there is plenty of action. Even better, you are close to the Crown Casino complex which is absolutely ace with multiple bars, restaurants, night clubs etc.
February 9, 20179 yr For Boxing Day 2010 ( the greatest day's cricket I've ever witnessed), we stayed at Hotel Windsor. You walk from the hotel through Fitzroy Gardens to the G. Wonderful walk and start to the day, from a proper old hotel. They have a cricketers bar. Then a hop, skip and jump back to town afterwards and catch up with the Barmies Edited February 9, 20179 yr by boltondiver
