Just had a phone call, one of our posters off here was killed today TROTTER, most of you will know him as Ferny from Astley Bridge.

DS thats a great idea and a touching way to remember one of our great fans.

 

Im sure most if not all will agree with your idea. Could be fitting to have it up Blackburn Rd too ?

Also I think wherever we play a pre season tour from now on we should organise a trip in his memory as I'm sure he would of sorted one out for us!!!

That is simply the saddest thread I've ever read but totally apt and just.

 

He always came over to talk to me at aways with another bloke in the Portugal picture. It was sad at The Bridge knowing he wasn't there. The Guy was so genuine and true. It is such a shame.

spoke to wanderers vicar today as westie and the pompey lads wanted to lay a reef or sum flowers on pitch in respect but you know the answer nothing allowed on pitch sad barstewards so westie sezs hes gonna lean over n stick um in front of there fans...................RESPECT

This could be a fitting tribute. Travelling and footie sort of summed him up for me.

 

My lasting memory of him was when he got on the pitch at half time at Brondby and took penalties against one of the keepers warming up. He climbed back into the stands to a great reception from the Danes.

 

Another that comes to mind was after we beat Charlton in the quarter final of the cup and Ferny was up on the bar leading the singing and dancing in that Orleans place that used to be on the complex.
