July 7, 20188 yr Well said Dave. Our country is full of PC assholes who are afraid to admit that they actually still find things entertaining because society says they’re not supposed to. Sheep. Not really anything to do with being PC - I just don't find them particularly funny now I've grown up. I did when I was 13 - in much the same way that 'Viz isn't as good as it used to be'. By way of proof - the childish part of me still can't help but titter at this - despite it probably being one of the most offensive songs ever recorded.
July 7, 20188 yr Kent, isn’t it you that found Rick Myall funny? He did the same shit for years and you didn’t grow out of that?
July 7, 20188 yr Kent, isn’t it you that found Rick Myall funny? He did the same shit for years and you didn’t grow out of that? I found Bottom funny and still do. And the bits he did in Blackadder. I'm not having a pop about what people do and don't find funny - more that Captainmed was assuming that I was somehow making a choice not to find it funny because it wasn't PC. You can't help what you laugh at. If you pretend to not be amused by something because of your political leanings then you'd have to be a bit of a bell.
July 7, 20188 yr Bottom was shite I'll be the first to say it I thought it was pretty shit when it was first on - but the older I've got - the more it made me laugh. Perhaps I'm going senile?
July 8, 20188 yr Silverwell Street was a belting gig. All wagged School that day and went to meet the band. Borrowed my brothers “Beer & Sex & Chips & Gravy” LP to get it signed. Pretty sure they wrote on it “does your mum fuck?”. Still got it somewhere! Good fun back in the day.
July 9, 20188 yr I found Bottom funny and still do. And the bits he did in Blackadder. One trick pony, aye, but as a kid i found him piss funny. I'm the opposite with Bottom - loved it when I was at school but watched it on Netflix recently and you could see the flaws. The slapstick stuff is still top notch though. As for the last bit, I totally agree.

Their homophobic lyrics I can also just about stomach. But their sexist remarks about the female population - that's just got no place in society!
