December 9, 200421 yr Just got back from seein them at the Academy in Manchester....... Amazing. All I can say is that if Oasis want to regain top spot in my gig-list, they're gonna have to put on one hell of a show. Best live band I've seen, top frontman -- class. Anyone not got their album, I would strongly advise purchasing it. (Yes Horwich I said purchase.. as in buy.. not download!)
December 10, 200421 yr Author Why not download? It's not like they will starve if you don't buy their album. no, but the industry is suffering because of illegal downloads. its hard work to make and write good music, and I personally think if someone does it - they should be rewarded for it by being able to make a living out of it. If people don't buy records, record companies can't pay artists. Hence the industry is saturated with "quick fix" pop acts who are here today, gone tomorrow and bands aren't allowed time to develop and grow with a long deal - It's either instant success or f**k off, it shouldn't be. That's my view as a songwriter and performer, I know you'll disagree. I download songs from itunes and pay 79p a time for a single. Even then if i like a band I'll still go and buy an album, whether I can get it for free or not. would you HONESTLY like someone getting all your hard work for f**k all? And before its said, yes i know it isn't back-breaking labour, or saving someone's life - but laying oneself open and putting everything you've got into 3:30 worth of sound can be as draining/stressful/rewarding as anything else, and no-one has the right to judge that until they've done it --- just like any other way of working. December 10, 200421 yr Tyler, this free porn I occasionally access and share... Does this work the same ? ie porn stars out of work
December 10, 200421 yr Author Tyler, this free porn I occasionally access and share... Does this work the same ? ie porn stars out of work To be completely honest - I neither know, nor give a flying monkey's arse. I care about music, not porn. I wouldn't want to give an opinion on something I know nothing about.
December 10, 200421 yr To be completely honest - I neither know, nor give a flying monkey's arse about porn. It's when 2 like minded adults engage in sexual activities, and then let like minded adults view their stuff, either by a picture or movie.
December 10, 200421 yr the record companies should've made digital music more accessible 3/4/5 years ago and then the problem wouldn't be half as bad it's just become a habit now downloading albums has allowed me to discover albums I probably wouldn't have bought and enjoyed who'd have thougth Girls Aloud were actually any good, I wouldn't for a start and the sooner they start appearing on Shunky's tissues the better

Infact sometimes it includes another creature or two as well, like a dog or a goat
December 10, 200421 yr I download the occsasional album - I got the kasabian album and I don't feel guilty about doing it. For starters, if you get to the point in your career where people have heard enough about you to want to download your stuff, then you're not exactly on the breadline. The lack of my 12 or 15 quid isn't going to stop them getting off their tits on coke and bumping uglies with models and Hollyoaks actresses. Also the record industry in this country rip us off big time. CDs here cost a lot more than abroad and when companies like wow.com were selling them to us for the same price that people pay elsewhere the bleeding BPI shut them down. I'll start buying them again when we start paying what other people pay. That said Tyler - if you release an album, I'll buy it.
December 10, 200421 yr I have a copy of the Kasabian Cd. Its okay. Also recently got copies of.... Ian Brown - Solarized Interpol - Antics (apparently these guys are the next big thing) Kasabian - Kasabian Lloyd Cole - The Singles Mudhoney - Superfuzz Bigmuff & more Pixies - Wave of Mutilation Clash - London Calling 25th Anniversary edition Jesus & Mary Chain - Psychocandy The Music - Welcome to the North The Mooney Suzuki - Alive & Amplified The Thrills - Lets Bottle Bohemia Kings Of Leon - Aha Shake Heartbreak John Frusciante - Shadows Collide with People John Frusciante - The Will To Death John Squire - Marshalls House MC5 - Big Bang - The Best Of SLF - Song by Song (Jake Burns fave SLF songs) The Damned - Entire Discography King Kurt - Entire Discography And Shark Tale the Movie!
December 10, 200421 yr Author That said Tyler - if you release an album, I'll buy it. Funny you should mention that......... ........................ Got an EP available next week, just waiting for the printers to deliver the artwork
December 10, 200421 yr Got an EP available next week, just waiting for the printers to deliver the artwork Printers don't deliver artwork. You give artwork to a printer to get printed material done. And as I guess that was a hint, I shall chase up delivery date for you now.

December 10, 200421 yr In all fairness - older members on here will probably have spent good earned coin during the years on vinyl and cassettes. Now you find yourself unable to listen to half of your collection due to changing technology - ie. not having a record player or stylus to listen to your vinyl. For me, I ain't paying again to get hold of all this material - hence I am currently tracking and downloading for FREE stuff that I already own in a different format. However, like mentioned on here already, bands like Kasabian, Snow Patrol, Franz Ferdinand, etc, I would not have even bothered with if I had not got their stuff for free. Again recalling my yewf, we used to copy vinyl on to blank tapes so we could share stuff. Upshot of it is, there is more chance of me going watching the likes of Franz Ferdinand and spending money on ticket / merchandise after listening to their music for free - than if I hadn't heard their stuff. Just last weekend 7/8 of us went watching The Damned in Manchester - a couple of weeks prior - I downloaded their entire back catalogue and sent it out to the other lads in MP3 format. The Damned may have missed out on a few pence each from that - but gained in concert ticket sales, merchandise sales and I guess a cut of the bar sales. End of the day - there's a point here somewhere - if the musicians got a fair cut and the rest of the "music machine" stopped taking huge unnecessary chunks out of royalties - original albums would be much more affordable and this download malarkey would not have risen its head. How many record companies - Sony, EMI, etc will post piss poor financial figures? They are making unnecessary millions out of mug punters by ripping them off.
