AB was okay. I thought he was partly to blame for the goal. On seeing it just now - its Ben Haim who chases after Anelka. Hardly to blame though.

I also thought Barness did alright today and I was sober!

He got the MoM as a protest vote perhaps, but he actually was our most dangerous attacker today. He pushed forward well and defended steadily.

 

I also didn't think Ben Haim and Cesar were toobad either. Our main problem today was the lack of work, width and creativity from the midfield 5.

Barness was by far the best player on the pitch yesterday.

 

What we missed yesterday was the confidence to take a shot on goal instead of dicking about on the edge of the area looking to give the ball to someone else to blast into row Z!

i don't think yesterday was that much different to most of our games, except we looked less likely to concede than in recent weeks

What we missed yesterday (and against Portsmouth) was any sort of creativity. If a team decides to play deep and invite the pressure on them, we just haven't got a clue. I cannot remember any of our players getting behind their defense. We just played hopeless nothing balls which any half decent defense can cope with.

 

Especially when we are playing at home we need to be more adventurous. Although he is not playing well I think we should give Jay Jay a free role and play with Speed and Campo in from of the back four.
