  1. Social media isn't safe.. They can still contact charities, they just can't chat on open forums and have to instigate conversations. Places like this are not social media, nor reddit.. because if somebody says something they'll get called out on it.
  2. Possibly not, but if they do set up Face verification, they'll have to get you to sign back in, means you have some control over content at least and can see if they have people trying to get them to message privately, that's some of the battle in itself. Can't account for parents that are not willing to follow rules and there's only so much the Government can do to try and keep kids safe.
  3. Government planning to fine companies who don't support it, they'll pull access for UK based IP addresses and MAC addresses. VPNs can be blocked quite easily and tracked. The big one will be the content tracking. If someone messages using kid speak or accessing content it deems as teen content, face verification. They could go further and only give five minutes until they lock it for the day.. People will be against it, but atm 2/3 kids have witnessed someone trying to take conversation to a direct message, 54% feel grooming is be expected from being online. These come from a survey where 1 in 4 kids who were victims of sextortion were under 13 when it happened. It's not safe.
  4. Good grief Sluffy you write a lot..
  5. https://youtube.com/shorts/-wE_E4Wi-30?is=wkLN-oEKqk5MeI6q
  6. I rethink to all the excitement over signing Jardel.. Bolton fans cant possibly be the only ones that routinely slag off/hound/berate their players and wonder why their heads go..
  7. I keep thinking of this meme that people use to decide if these attackers are worth getting riled up about...
  8. Aye, lads been fantastic in conference with inwood. Stepped up 2/3 leagues easily and will be able to do that again.
  9. Few people getting upset that the Clubs put a PRIDE message out on facebook... Showing the worst of our fans in the comments section
  10. Kids are not meant to have phones out amd staff monitor it in lock down. Kids were messaging parents to pick them up and streaming online allegedly. The issue is that someone seeking to cause harm has lots of people at hand when people come to gates etc.
  11. Lock down procedures not working in that school and showing just why kids should be using these cases. Parents at the gates shouting when they're in lock down.
  12. The lads death had nothing to do with the Police response. Read the court paper, it's well evidenced that the attack was fatal. If the speech is about the other guy being allowed to carry two blades and that being the conversation starter between the two, then fair enough..
  13. Not seen anything about this Vigil in Bolton, I'm guessing as it's raining they all changed their minds. Don't want one wet trouser knee.
  14. Flag is translucent, the guy on the left with the brown hat appears to be wearing an all in one suit, one leg is blue the other green the guy behind watch man, he socks are merged into his really skinny ankles and his arm is transparent half way up Red shirt, the jeans turn into a white cloth which then blends with her back, Woman behind with floral top appears to have a grey goatee, her jeans turn into shirt sleeves near the ankle.
  15. Loving the memes being made of Apex. Hadn't twigged it was Taren Egerton and shows how good an actor he is. Just something about it irked me buy still a decent film. Chemical brothers pushing the soundtrack too... Watched "send help" awful SFX ruining a good idea for a film.. just un nessacarily bad gore.
  16. Kieran Morrison...
  17. Completely overhaul the PGCE, Teachers no longer create their own lessons. Less research and assignments, and offer them huge bursaries. They're kicking the can down the road.
  18. I'm not :p Never been a drinker, Kate and myself are quite different haha
  19. Seen some pretty horrendous things online over the last 24 hours. Worst one has to be the following statement "The family have said they don't want this, but they don't get to say how we react to a death, their wishes don't matter". That poor family are having to watch all this unfold, they've lived it once and now it's all happening again. Would have been very easy for one of those police yesterday to be killed.. Seen video's of people throwing electric scooters, bricks from above.. meanwhile "influencers" stand at the front trying to live stream it. Not one of those police yesterday deserved that, having to quite litrelly run for their lives at one point from a baying mob. Yes, the one who handcuffed a suspect needs to be deal with appropriately, he got it wrong.. people get things wrong.. but attacking Police won't help. It's hard to have a dignified death when you've been fatally stabbed and lots of people are forgetting the villain in all this is the dick with the knife.
  20. I'd be happy with free's and loans if it helps secure the club financially.
  21. seeing the scenes in Southampton. People just simmering waiting for a kick off, chasing police down and throwing bins at them, there's a rancid powder keg just waiting to go off. Police get things wrong, it's awful and that shouldn't have happened.. but there's no excuse for what's happening.
  22. The ones in Walkden/Farnworth border were modular, Spoke to a guy who was in one of the first ones, said they quite literally bolted together then built around the frame.,
  23. Issue is, often they're not. I've taught NEETS, as part of a learning program to develop their skills, the council tutors help them with life skills, employability skills and IT skills (nothing outside what I teach in a secondary school). The stipulation was they were paid to attend, and so they did, but I got nothing from them, 5 hour teaching day seemed like a week. One turned up purely as "my mums gonna boot me out of I dont". Then there's the ones that don't understand professionalism, why can't I have face tattoos, face full of metal, why can't I sit on my phone, why do I need to dress and look smart, why do I have to start at the bottom. I'm on a good wage now, I can't grumble.. hadn't always been this way and my first job from uni was full time at HMV on minimum wage as I couldn't get a graduate job.. it sucked. Graduates were on 18/19k I was on 12k and had to work evenings and weekends (missed most of BWFCs glory days). Within a year I was a floor manager. Then assistant manager by time I left. Had illusions of grandure in uni and well, that didn't happen. Doesn't matter what you do, you've got to graft to get there but so many young people want the prize without the leg worm that most on here, like myself, will have done in some way.
  24. The army (other armed forces too) male kids credit their GCSEs.. Not saying its right, I'm one of the most inclusive educators around but it's the way it is. These neets are not the ones you speak of doing apprenticeships. For me apprenticeship should be the way forward for most, far better than the college uni route.
