Transfers to move the needle?
Hearing £1.5m for Randall. He seems very similar to a blend of williams/collins/McAtee to me. A fortune for us for more of the same. Cashing in on Charles maybe?

Transfers to move the needle?
Watching highlights of Joel Randall, he's a mixture of randy Williams, Collins and McAtee.

Another unfavourable performance. How much more can we tolerate

Transfers to move the needle?
I seriously question the decision making of the board; there are several occasions, just before Wembley and since that many of us thought he would be sacked. We are worse than we were 12 months ago. There are very few examples that IE transfers have actually kicked on, and a handful that could be described as total flops. Given that, why would the owners dig deep and spend yet more money on transfers this month to move the needle?

Interesting element to the name of our owners, Football Ventures; A venture is a project or activity that is new, exciting, and difficult because it involves the risk of failure. how much will they risk and what is failure?- Mansfield Town (A)
So infuriating this. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of supporters want rid of IE. For the board to fund another transfer window for him seems like a waste of their money. We are absolutely nowhere near promotion quality. And in the last 12 months we have got worse. As I said last week, the longer the board tolerate his damaging incompetence, the poorer it reflects on them and they too become fair game for criticism. As much as we vent our anger on here, it really does fall on deaf ears.- Transfers to move the needle?
The challenge is a tough one. To attract champoinship level players on 1st div wages into a team low in confidence, quality and mental fortitude?- Barnsley (H)
We are bolton fans from the cradle to the grave. The owners and manager are mere custodians, who aren't bolton fans at all but are doing a job for which they are well paid. The vast majority if posters on here are giving their honest and well constructed points of view. In the current climate relations are strained between fans and manager. But unfortunately there is an increasing element of them and us, as the owners are seemingly tolerating incompetence.- Barnsley (H)
Just what I think too. Their product is being damaged.- Barnsley (H)
I fear that the board are too weak to sack him, that they are stubbornly willing to let it run, whatever the league position and disenfranchised loyal fans that that may bring about?- Barnsley (H)
I was saying just that, above....- Barnsley (H)
The vote of confidence and carefully chosen words from the board. Plus the prospect of financial backing yet again, worked only to appease me for a few days. Connel was their capt and having a good game but got subbed after about 65 mins. They then improved, and should have won more easily. Barnsley are a bang average team in poor recent form, yet after in the 2nd half particularly they schooled us in everything. Having jumped into the evatt out camp after 12 months of being patient, I am now beginning to doubt the decision making and true intentions of the owners. I believe that IF we brought in 2 or 3 1st teamers in in the window, we would still fail and continue a damaging downward spiral. The enjoyment has gone for me and many others. We are nowhere near a promotion side, we can all see it apart from the "people that matter"- Transfers to move the needle?
Move the needle" is an idiom that means to make a noticeable change or to modify something so that the effect is measurable. It's often used in a positive sense to describe making progress toward a goal. Thanks to ask Jeeves, now I know...- Transfers to move the needle?
His staple move is to receive the ball about 40yds out with his back to goal. He then miss controls the ball and loses it. Or, he thrutches to control it then prods it either backwards or sideways. Generally, that's what he does.....- Transfers to move the needle?
Haha. I am obsessed with Vic. He does feature in most of my recent posts. He's stealing a living. He wouldn't get goals at any professional level. There I go again..- Transfers to move the needle?
IE says we have money to spend on 2 or 3 1st 11 players. I don't know what move the needle means. But I wonder who we have in mind. Vic for one has to be moved out ....- Wycombe Wanderers (A)
Victor can't do anything.- Wycombe Wanderers (A)
Vic has no strengths whatsoever. Total charlatan.- Wigan Athletic (H)
I reckon I'm a good and fair judge of a player. Vic does nothing well in games. What does he show in training, a turn of pace, beating players with the ball, silky control, accurate shots from distance, finishing by dinking or rounding the keeper, winning headers, tacking for the ball. The list goes on, but the answer to all of the above is, none of them. He hasn't got the ability. We need to get rid ASAP but who'd have him?- Wigan Athletic (H)
As always Bell's, a calm and rational post. I can't help but agree with almost everything you point out. The verbal abuse towards evatt is a gradual process which starts with mumbling of dissatisfaction which multiply with each frustrating performance and infuriating scoreline. Imo his credibility is very nearly none existent and any receipts that he has are already spent. Does he still have Sharon's backing?- Wigan Athletic (H)
There are several occasions when he should have gone; After Wembley for me and Huddersfield loss at home when he blamed everyone at the club and was begging to be shot. But he won't resign. If I've put money into bolton to get us promoted, particularly with a transfer window coming up, I'd be insisting enough is enough. I heard Sharon was the only decision maker not wanting to sack him...... - Mansfield Town (A)
