Seriously, more folk are visiting Bury as opposed to Bolton. I went to Bury recently on a beer train trip but did have a mooch around the so called famous Market. Impressive!! I actually thought it was far better than Bolton, I know..... give me some shite for saying so but a few more besides myself have mentioned it's a decent place. As for pubs Bury was better, I don't do shopping so I aint a clue about that. At least the grot spots in Bolton are being addressed.

That day missus and me bought a day saver, visited 5 different towns and I can say most of the good beer guide pubs served a warm pint. A lot call wetherspoons but their ale was always served cool and at sensible prices. As for those poor Pigeons, I'm speechless.

My last visit to Bolton town centre saw me move no further than the Micro Bar in the Market Hall. Anyhow, I was chatting with a Bolton camra member about the pubs of Bolton, he mentioned Sweet Green Tavern. So I visited there Saturday on my travels and I have to say I returned my ale. I bought a pint of real ale cannot remember what it was called and the wife ordered a cider. Both were bloody warm and the prices were diabolical. Not be in a hurry to return. As for the Micro bar, when I was there I never heard an English word spoken, it sounded like a motor boat factory. Send the bastards back.

Benal is probably the cheapest in Euro zone and a pint can be purchased for the same 80cents although the time has to be right (happy hour etc) Remember being amazed after going to Bulgaria to see the wanderers play Plovdiv, the coaches took us to Nessebar where a full chicken meal and a few pints were purchased for about £6. Beer there was probably under a quid.
