Its only a possibility but I think that before the Wycombe game there could have been hints or delicate overtures to SS about his feelings about taking the job but after that surprising result Evatt was given a reprieve and we've been in a holding pattern waiting for another run of bad results to bring the matter to a head. That would explain why Schumacher wasn't approached or persued by all the other teams who've recently brought in a new manager. It's only a guess but hopefully he joins tomorrow and we move forward with a potentially good new manager

Think we do need a DOF as today's game is not just about the training ground and sorting tactics for match day. A DOF could deal with all the agents, transfers, board and general direction of the team, so the manager can concentrate on the actual team. Sam would be great for that and knows this side of the game. Schumacher could then focus on match tactics.
