  1. Obviously I’m not in the know on this but I understood Wilson wanted to come here but Bristol decided they wanted a bigger fee? If he goes to Derby that’s fine they’ve obviously satisfied both ends but it’s not one I’m especially fussed about personally as Cogley looks decent.
  2. To be fair I don’t think they’re new managers in town yet, he’s had to sit out his last game with Tampa in the US so it might have been because of that. I know they’ve let a couple go but I can’t believe they don’t have enough of a squad to play if they needed to.
  3. It looks bad enough and from what Evatts saying it looks serious so here we go again another key player out probably Long term.
  4. We’ll let’s just hope this is a game of two halves because that was tosh and yes I know it’s early doors and all that but missed chances again!!
  5. I’m not sure Collins is even here yet as I think he’s committed to staying for Tampas last game today so it’s probably understandable if that’s the case.
  6. Rak Saki, no I don’t believe they have Eddie. I’m not sure if Palace are looking to loan him again or not but we could do worse than getting him here.
  7. What a shame, it looks like the Tics have missed out on their much anticipated sell on fee from an Antonee Robinson sale as he looks to have signed a new contract at Fulham!!
  8. I’m sure you’re right Traf and to be fair from Charlton you’re not that far from Kent anyway. 😄
  9. Barnsley have had to postpone their midweek game at Guisely on Tuesday because they can’t put a team out!! Seems strange and would suggest their new manager has a lot of work to do?
  10. Not sure about that Traf, it was reported he wanted to get back home to Kent which is why Gillingham were favourites but obviously something else, probably money won in the end? Who knows but that’s a cracking signing for Charlton who I expect to be a major challenger this year.
  11. Yes, fair play to the lad if he thinks he’s worth more than we’re offering and I suspect that as an Australia international there’ll be plenty takers for him when his current deal does run down.
  12. Most over here slightly underwhelmed but prepared to give him the chance to get it right. He’s got a pretty solid playing record in England but never managed here and 7 years in the USA mean he has a lot of catching up to do. It’s a risky one for all concerned and I suspect if things aren’t going well by Christmas his 2 year contract won’t count for much. To be fair despite the departures they’ve still got a half decent squad so one or two additions and they could still be a challenger.
  13. Who knows lusty but both wages and transfer fees seem to get more realistic the closer to the windows end so let’s hope if nothing else turns up in the meantime that happens with Wilson and Baccus because I suspect neither club will want to lose either player for nothing if their contracts run down? 😉
  14. I think you could be right on the wages thing Lusty because IE already indicated that he couldn’t recruit players on wages that were significantly higher than those already here. The problem is that better players can demand better wages and it doesn’t look like we’ve so far been able to meet them. I’m still hopeful that IE and CM will deliver but it may mean we have to wait it out until nearer the end of the window so yes, frustrating!!
  15. Most Vale fans seem to rate their other young defender Cass as a better player than Will so let’s hope that Evatt’s got it right and Will turns out to be as good as we hope. I don’t expect to see much of him initially as long as none of our main 3 aren’t going anywhere.
  16. Yes I’m hoping for that too both because I want a run in the FA Cup which we haven’t had for ages and also because a night match will add to the atmosphere.
  17. It’s certainly a toughie for her, being the first at something adds even more pressure but I wish her luck and as others have said, even if she fails others have too. Full marks for being brave enough and I hope she does well but she’ll certainly be under the microscope.
  18. But if they don’t go out it means only 1 to come in. I’m hoping John stays, he’s definitely for me the best LWB we have, George definitely can go out on loan and though I like Sadlier I just don’t see him fitting into Evatt’s team. As for Jerome, if he’s not going to get much game time here I’d have thought he’d easily find another home for a year. I’m sure Ian’s frustrated by it though because until there are moves out there’s little more coming in unless it’s young loans?
  19. It will be if he signs for Brum today as speculated. Think we’ll be settling for Geth and the new lad at RWB. Seems a bright lad will and looks really happy to be here so good luck to him and let’s hope he turns out a gud un.
  20. They will certainly but most of that will be used to finance the club. Tykes fans are already aware that transfer fees won’t be paid and the club will be trying to continue the same moneyball approach to bringing in free and young players to develop and sell on. They still don’t have a confirmed new manager yet so clearly they are a bit behind already. Expect one or two more to leave yet.
  21. Although he does lose a little in height, he’s a clever player young and improving all the time. Gudni wasn’t the biggest either but he knew how to outwit and deal with bigger players. I don’t think all round Iredale’s as good as George and I’d be disappointed if he did leave.
  22. I think it might have been the “I’m happy to be here” comment followed by the “at the moment” bit. Why add at the moment? May be nothing but sometimes you can read between the lines. Let’s hope it was nothing and George stays.
  23. Money in the bank Dave, money in the bank. 😉
  24. To a point MK and we’re certainly not a mega club in the United, City, Liverpool and the like sense but let’s be fair, Wanderers are a big club with a rich history and we do have a big fan base, none of which Wigan have. Outside of the big city clubs I’d say we’re as “big” as anybody so I’m sure when players are coming here from lower levels they’re saying exactly what they think not what they’re told and are obviously glad to be here.
  25. Betting suspended at 6pm on Barnsley’s new manager and at 4pm Wilder was at evens? Now that really would be a coo for the Tykes.
