We need to ditch this wingers nonsense Gale, Cissoko, Apter none of them are good enough and we're forcing our wing backs to be full backs to do it, which is hurting their game too. We need to go back 3/5 for the rest of the season for me.

They moved to a "back 4" late on when they decided to see the game out and hold on. He says back 4 but it was more like a back 6 or 7. What won us the game was a back 3 with wing backs.

We look better with a back 5 with wing backs, which makes sense when you remember that both Conway and Tutu are really wing backs not full backs, think it also made us better because it had the impact of moving them up the pitch so they helped fill in a light midfield. Still fustrated that the formation SS used to win this league (3421) has never really got a run out for us, with us lacking wingers right now, i thought now would have been an ideal time.

Their player went down and started tapping out like he was in WWE.

No idea what other people are talking about, saying things like McAtee was "looking at him" he clearly isn't. Their player is coming from behind him, the area i squiggled in blue is where he's looking.

Once defenders figured out all ACD wanted to do was cut inside and shoot every time he was rubbish for us.

My point is he didn't pick a replacement for the missing Erhahon and Simons, which would have been the likes of Irwin, he picked our only other no 10, like McAtee and Rodrigues. In case you don't know or understand a no 10 isn't like a normal Midfielder. In the youth team for example Ritchie is our main goal scoring threat.

Of course there is, all the out and out midfielders in the same team like Harley Irwin, as an example.

Would make sense if he wasn't a no10.

Oh who's that on the bench? it's Ritchie. I think i remember being slaughtered on here for suggesting be included anywhere near the first team. Funny that.

Based on your comments...YOU don't know this.

Our total cost excluding transfers are basically in line with PNE, Blackburn and a load of others in the Championship, they're 3x likes of Mansfield Town and many others in League 1. If we get promotion to the Championship, atleast it would give us the chance of being somewhere close to sustainable. In league 1 it doesn't exist for us, our costs are too high, just running our stadium alone, while a small part of our costs, would represent a decent chunk of the total cost for some clubs in this league. Many on here, like the ****s on X need a reality check.

The structure of the club is built around buying/ developing players and selling them, in a model similar to Brighton. It's why Fergal wants us back at a Cat 2 academy. The issue is we can't really do this in League 1 and chase promotion at the same time, because our fixed costs are too high. The only clubs willing to spend the amount of money we need only exist in the PL and Championship, and as a league 1 team even if you had the next Beckham, they don't want to take a risk spending the £10-20 million we'd need even if he was a generational talent for us, but they're much more likely if that same player was playing in the Championship. This is why we got 600k for Dion Charles, and not the 6 million we got for Gary Madine. This club can't afford to operate this business model in League 1. It can in the Championship.

No, I'd have potted him for us not finishing in the play offs and for his National League level ability. Don't forget we only just scraped by into the automatics in League Two.

No we kept him 2 seasons too long arguably, 2.5 seasons too long. The reason this is even a discussion on here is because we're not in the automatics, and the chance of getting in them is basically now impossible. The reason we're not up there for me lays just like it did Evatt, solely with tactics, Lincoln play the same 4231 we do, with similar possession based football, but the tactics are different. This is the reason we'll finish the season with well over 1000 shots (more than anyone else) and we're 9th in goals scored. The tactic of relying on ACD etc to score wondergoals is like i said in November when everyone on here was calling him the second coming of Christ, unreliable. I was right then and im still right now.

Having an IQ higher than the temperature of tepid water helps. Just because you're ignorant don't assume everyone else is. Do you think losing £13 million is good? If you do i've some rain to sell you.

It doesn't take an accountant to know £13 million a year losses is unsustainable long term.

This is why I've been so mad with the happy clappers over the years, giving Evatt year after year, accepting our mediocrity. These same people have been saying we need to give SS 4 transfer windows, and oh we'll just do it next year, and oh i quite like it in league one. You have your fun and games while we stay here year after year and eventually we're in admin again because FV have given us up as a lost cause.

Conway and Tutu are both Wing backs, basically wingers who can do a little tacking and marking , the fact our record with them at left and right back is so good is a miracle. They're doing their best outside their natural positions.

People talking about the centre backs not being fast enough blows me away, were Mark Beevers and David Wheater fast? no, but they got us promoted first time. Atleast one of them went up for every corner too. Our centre backs are good enough to get promoted from league 1, we have the 3rd best defence in the league without a proper right back and left back in a back 4. The problem is in the quality of our chance creation. Blasting in goals like ACD/Gale/Apter (wants to) from 30 yards looks great but how many real goal scoring opportunites were sniffed out long before they could begin to facilitate that. How many through balls, crosses and overlaps were ignored so that someone could cut inside to blast it at the first man. We have almost double the amounts of shots than 6th place Stevenage. This is the problem.
