Free Agents for the 2025/2026 Rebuild

I'm hoping that some of you lovely lot would like to indulge in a bit of fantasy squad building for next season. Realistically, who do you think we could sign or make a transfer offer for?

I don't think TAA will be on our shortlist, but what additions would you realistically like to see?

Fair play, that’s Football Cliches territory to pick that out 👏

That first goal from McGinlay doesn't get mentioned a lot compared to other goals in the White Hot era, but what a finish.  He made a not-straight-forward chance look like he was playing against a youth team.  An outstanding scorer of all types of goals.

One of the main things about that team is that half of them were good enough to play in the prem , and we picked them up for fuck all . No wonder we sluiced thru 2 divisions.

Me old man used to say about that goal , quick feet and a low center of gravity , you cant teach that .

Also interesting to note, following on from the Bradford/Hillsborough talk, whilst still got fences up there, it's before they introduced the yellow gang says on the BT you weren't allowed to stand on, so everyone just packed in wherever they could

And as much as I didn't like it when the opposition scored, seeing the limbs on a packed embankment when a goal went in was always quite the sight as a young lad

Seem to remember the stewards having their work cut out imposing that with the gangways. They had to start getting tough on rules as we went up, I used to climb in the iron post that held the Terrace roof up right on the end nearest the lever end while my Dad stood beneath. They had to stop shit like that.

You're right about the limbs, remember looking across when Newcastle landed on that first prem night match, it was bursting at the seams when they scored.

There were bloody loads that season with all them last minute goals, Colin Bastard Cooper, Danny Dichio etc always looked mint.

Yes and you could bet Dion, Collins and Macca would still have found a way to miss it. True class Super John.
