May 16, 200521 yr Heard that too off a guy who used to post on here as EricSneekes. Apparently he suddenly collapsed and it isn't looking good for the long term due to the length of time he went without oxygen. It took a while for him to get treated. Nice fella is Richard. A lot of time for him.
May 16, 200521 yr If its the bloke I think it is I once saw his football team playing at Burnden 7's. They all played in old jumpers and tennis shoes and looked like Begbie's five a side team in Transpotting. They were playing a team of young lads, kitted out in a full Bolton kit with their names on their backs and expensive trainers who took it really seriously and they beat them.
May 16, 200521 yr A friend of the family. Had a heart attack a couple of weeks ago which has caused brain damage. Not looking too good for the poor bloke.
May 16, 200521 yr Hovis used to compere for the likes of Raging Kipper. He went on to write some good poems and did a few turns at places like the Edinburgh Festival. He once wrote a few articles for White Love and came round my house on his drop-handled push bike - with those clips around his trousers - what a sight! Simple things for a simply nice fella. I'll never forget him doing a prize draw in the Crown & Flicknife one night - giving away a housebrick as the prize. Only he could make it sound like a top drawer prize. Hope he comes round and gets fit for the Euro tour.

Mad as a hatter but always had time for Richard. He always brightened up the TR85 meetings back in the dark days. RIP.
June 10, 200521 yr Been in his company on a good few occasions, He did a set for us at the appeal you might remember I helped to organise, last spoke to him in Jan. Sad sad news, a great loss to local comedy.
