I actually considered going this morning, just to see a concert at the reebok .. not because I like his music :^o

Horwich could, but then again he did have backstage / back door entry!

just reading about it on the official site. says there were 22,000 (nearly capacity??) and that there was a suprise appearance by peter kay to sing 'way to amarillo'

all stands except north were used, with just a few hundred seats covered up int south that would have been obstructed view

 

then about 2 or 3 thou on the pitch, i'd guess

 

oddly enough, they ran out of beer*

 

 

* this would have happened much sooner if they'd had more folk selling as the queues were worse than for the fotball

the price is now ??3 a pint

Service was absolutely RANK - 30mins + to get served where we were.

 

Someone asked for water at about 6pm, and they had run out.

 

Non-football punters were surprised to see all the caps being taken off the bottles (even the little wine bottles). Obviously concert goers are as big a risk for throwing bottle caps as football fans.

 

I thought DeVeres should be capable of organising the proverbial piss up in a brewery, but obviously not.

 

Apart from that, I thought the concert was superb - cue the abuse!

We went:

 

Lulu was good, Peter Kay was brill, Elton - could have done better. Service was poor, prices were extortionate - ??3.50 for a burger!!, queue for ladies was beyond belief, ended up using the mens. Anyway, managed to have a good time due to the copious amount of alcohol consumed :bb
