Hunt to get his chance?

Featured Replies

Neville out, Johnson slated for his last england appearance, good performance from Hunt last night, involved in both goals, has impressed at U21 level. Cant think of any other english right back playing regular premiership football. I say give him a chance.

are you related to him?

To be fair to the lad, I really can't think of many other English right backs, let alone any half decent ones. Johnson is shite and wouldn't get a look in if he wasn't based in London.

Hunt comes up against better players week in week out than he could possibly face playing against Wales or Northern Ireland.

they'll probably pick t'other Neville brother or Owen Hargreaves before Nicky Hunt gets a look in.

I would prefer to have three centre backs and then Shaun Wright-Phillips and Ashley Cole as wing backs. I fear that would be far to exciting for Sven to contemplate though

tony hibbert is by far a better defender imo.

isn't he really ginger though?

CWP I like the way you think! Been suggesting that myself for a while now. 5-3-2 with Robinson, Cole, Campbell, Terry , Ferdinand, SWP, Gerrard (Holding), Lampard, Beckham, Rooney, Owen. (What a side!) Although I agree it will probably never happen. Could have Carragher or Neville playing on the right hand side of the three centre backs to cover for SWP. Would also mean it would be incredibly easy to switch to 4-4-2!

P.S. No way I'd play Hunt over Carragher. He's never going to get a game at the World Cup so what would be the point? He does O.K. for us but I think he'd struggle in a full international?

Hunts not good enough for Bolton, never mind England

Like they gave Ricketts a chance! Hunt would just end up with an even bigger head, an even bigger pay packet and still be a no more than average defender.

But then he would want to play for a bigger club and we could ship him out for a few million.
