Three weeks ago I was going to both the Austria and Poland games. A week ago I decided to just go to the Poland one. Yesterday I found out our man's come good and tickets are guaranteed at a tenner more than face as per always. I've now abandoned the whole idea of going to either. Utter dross.

Watching England is about the 'crack'. If you were a true follower you would watch them even if 'Ironside' was playing. The team selection has just a minor part in the days events. You cant beat a day session when England are playing. Yes Sven is a cock, yes England never live up to expectations but get the early train to Picc & then in Waldf Pub for 11.00am you cant beat it. ENG--GER--LAND.

Danny Murphy is probably the most in-form English midfielder in the Premiership, whereas Kieran Richardson is doing an half-arsed job at left back for the Munichs.

Only been to a few England matches myself, and only been away once with them (v Portugal Euro 2000), and the crack was alright but nothing to special, agreed it was better than the now Premier league experiences, but no where near as good as bulgaria with the whites.

 

On the playing front I watched the first 60 minutes against Wales then left the pub, and against Northern Ireland I left at half time.....Says it all really

Four or five years ago I'd have agreed with you, but these days football just spoils a good drink. Most of the time it's not entertaining to watch and there's far too much about the whole thing that plain pisses me off.

 

Football as an entity has done it's level best to force the likes of myself out of the game and I'm afraid they've succeeded.

As it goes I think Crouch and Richardson are decent players.

 

 

But Murphy out at the expense of Smith - that's a sad reflection on Sven's footballing philosophy I think. Some of Murphy's passing yesterday was top, top drawer. What does Smith bring to the table except blue lips when it's cold?

Bent went off injured yesterday.

Thing is, Crouch if used properly is very very effective.

 

Clearly, he won't be afforded the luxury of some decent service for England, nor is he at Liverpool!

I rate Crouch, but he's out of his depth at Liverpool, he was wank today and isn't international quality.

I think Davies is better than Crouch and I dont think Davies should go anywhere near a England Squad and Im a botlon fan - says it all!

i agree with maggie, i used to go to a pub, few beers before an england game! great! when the footy came on, noone on this earth could take my eyes off the game,disturb me or whatever, now, i'll talk to the f??cking landlords cat rather than watch the match all the way through! its sh??t!!
