November 9, 200520 yr ...me and my friend are staying for the weekend when we play Newcastle. Where's the best places to stay? Muchos grassyarse in advance
November 9, 200520 yr there are quite a few b&bs in Gosforth not too bad. Lots of hotels ( travel inn etc ) near the quay side and in city center. Depends how much time u and ur 'friend' will be wanting to spend in the hotel room
November 9, 200520 yr Sue! Would this be a male or female friend?? The accomodation would need to fit the circumstances, ie; need for a single supplement, double bed, single beds, jacuzzi, his and her towel, her and her towel, etc! :-#
November 9, 200520 yr Author it's a female friend..thats all..single beds will be the order of the day
November 10, 200520 yr Been to newcastle about 10 times in 5 years, so for what it's worth here's my take on the place! - The Bigg Market-overated imo, full of Burberry hatted kids, and size 18 girls in size 8 skirts! Quayside - loads better! Do yourself a favour and try and stay in Jesmond (3 mile from newcy centre) Osborne rd Jesmond has some good buzzy bars up till 10/11pm, then most people head into newcastle centre,or quayside. Try www.newnorthumbriahotel.com this is on osborne rd and has a good bar. A cheaper alternative just accross the road is The Carlton hotel 0191 2813361. If you do stay in jesmond try Spy bar, Billabong,Osbornes, etc etc. Loadsa places quayside, and Sea nightclub or Buffalo Joes are good on friday or saturday. Enjoy !!!
November 10, 200520 yr I take it you'll want to do some shopping, There's a travel inn near the Metro centre -

November 10, 200520 yr Stayed once in the Cairn hotel - cheap and cheerful. But the place I'd recommend is a pub with a load of Accommodation attached to it - can't remember the name for the life of me - something plain like the White Horse or Red Lion #-o
November 10, 200520 yr stayed at a place called The Corner House 3 or 4 times, its a busy pub but has about 10 rooms above it, 5 mins in a taxi to town centre, pub also do crackin food, although the breakfast didnt go down well last time as i was so hungover i wanted to barf.
