What an arse the fa make of xmas fixtures, feel sorry for Preston fans who travelled to plymouth only for the game to be called of, it is a disgraceful situation when loyal fans are dragged across the length of britain in terrible weather and driving conditions, the fa as usual show they care little for the fans who pay there wages, they are a shower of shite.

The FA have said that they do random fixtures then look through them to see if they can be changes for long distance games on midweek, and hoilday time but this was unable to be done with the fixtures this time!!

It always used to be derby games at holiday periods. Teams would play another local team on Christmas Day and the fixtures were reversed on Boxing Day. Similar for Good Friday and Easter Monday.

You could play a derby on Boxing Day with the return on Good Friday and the New Year game could be reversed on Easter Monday.

The Conference do it - in fact the teams say before the fixtures come out who they want to play NYD/Boxing Day. Not all the nearest derby game - but all near enough.

The reason the derby games are not at Christmas is that they can sell out twice, as christmas games are traditionally good crowds (OK this doesn't apply in Leeds case with a piss poor 24K but this may be down to the joke prices that they charge at Elland Road)

 

Charlton Chairman was on Sky tonight and he has a point, why should Liverpool travel 60 miles over the 3 games yet Charlton travel 1,000 miles.

This year I think the tickets went onto open sale, whereas last year season ticket holders wanting Man Ure tickets didn't recieve them. People must be saving up money for the uefa cup this year!
