Borgetti is an out-an-out goal scorer - just look at his record in Mexico and for Mexico.

 

Our problem under the current very successful 4-5-1 / 4-3-3 formation is that we can not accomodate an out-and-out goalscorer as the front striker as we need Davies as the target man.

 

Unless we move to a 4-2-4 formation it is an utter waste of money and talent signing a ??5m+ out-and-out striker.

Yeah i said can we not have one that can acompany him. JJ is a good goal scorer but he is spending most of his time on the bench behind Nikata.

In a word, no. Would ruin our system. As long as Nolan and Stelios are scoring from midfield and Diouf gets a few we'll be alright.

I thought Jay Jay cut a sorry figure last night - giving the ball away,too slow, he just cannot cut the mustard at that level anymore. I'll always be grateful for what he's done for us,but it's time he departed for sunny Qatar now. Three years ago he kept us up virtually on his own (doesn't seem almost 3 years since his goal against West Ham) but sadly he's just not up to premiership level anymore. Bye Bye JJ and thanks
