April 4, 200620 yr It's an embarassment at times. Too many people with too many excuses. [-X cant afford it is my excuse i only go to the local aways :-$
April 4, 200620 yr and isn't this subject old and dried out ? money, tv, family first. I imagine it's not easy.
April 4, 200620 yr It wasn't always garbage... Not just to do with money me thinks.....a lot of passion has been lost from many fans. Just isn't like it was a while back. We've had it good for a few years and now everyone is bored of it. Would they all rather us be struggling at the bottom of the league and possibly getting relegated. If tonight was a relagation six-pointer for us we'd take miles more than we will tonight. FFS surely tonight is a BIG game for us!!
April 4, 200620 yr It's an embarassment at times. Too many people with too many excuses. [-X Yes it is......but.....your not a big club with a big fanbase, plus your a Town, in between the 2 most successfull footballing Cities in the Country!
April 4, 200620 yr Thats got fcuk all to do with it....We once had a good away following (only a few years back) when we were going through shittier times, so where are they now when things are going good???
April 4, 200620 yr You had quality away followings now and again....not all the time! At times you would suprise people at how many you take, and then the week after take f??ck all somewere else!
April 4, 200620 yr Partially correct, we did on a number occasion take a larger than expected following away. Then again we'd disappoint on other trips. But all in all though we had a much better following going back as little as 3 or 4 years ago than we do now. Not comparing our following to any other clubs, just to what it was in the past and it was miles better.
April 4, 200620 yr Every Clubs was better then, more working class, with some terracing available! Every Clubs following has gone down! Bolton brought almost 10k too Goodison in 1994, think its the most thats ever been ! And this year you brough 1200 at the most!

April 4, 200620 yr But all in all though we had a much better following going back as little as 3 or 4 years ago than we do now. given the number of sellouts in the away end at the reebok this season, i'd say we're not the only ones Everton and Newcastle not selling out tells you something is wrong

I could give you loads of reasons why, but the same reasons go for every Club!
April 4, 200620 yr Is it not that, the hardcore of our away support, wanted to do every game in Europe, and are now feeling the pinch ?
April 4, 200620 yr What you are taking now too your away League matches, that is your hardcore figure, around 500!
April 4, 200620 yr Don't agree, last season we would have taken a couple of thousand minimum to brum away.
April 4, 200620 yr Is it not that, the hardcore of our away support, wanted to do every game in Europe, and are now feeling the pinch ? Yes it is, which leaves your hardcore that are going to League games too... about 500! Most people that went to Europe dont bother with any of your matches anyway!
April 4, 200620 yr Don't agree, last season we would have taken a couple of thousand minimum to brum away. But thats not your hardcore is it !?!? Your hardcore is what you take to obscure away games, like Pompey away on a Tuesday night!
April 4, 200620 yr We haven't got a big enough fan base. untill we win the league and get the glory boys like the majority of cockey united fans, our away support, apart from local games, will be pi55 poor.
April 4, 200620 yr Don't agree, last season we would have taken a couple of thousand minimum to brum away. i doubt that very much anyone who was there care to enlighten us?
April 4, 200620 yr The smaller alocation a Brum is aprox 1400. Most Clubs take this option, as a safe option so the clubs dont have to folk out ??45 each for tickets not sold!
April 4, 200620 yr the away support has been piss poor at the reebok everton couldant sell out the top tear /sunderland /newcastle/westham/pompie /blackburn all piss away following in the league . city/ wigan couldant quite sell out only man u and utd have sold out this season. thats not counted the likes of brum charlton fulham whos always had a poor following the last few years. bolton following been down this season cause of europe and poor kick off times and live tv. so the fans who knock us should look at there own following all thoes mentioned havent sold out away are even at home every game and thats a fact bar newcastle who seel out every week at home. =P~
April 4, 200620 yr Our away support is poor, like everyone else outside the top 5-6 teams in this country (who if you looked at it will probably have a changing away support week on week, but can command this due to fan base???). We are going to end up like other foreign countries where away followings are poor and have been for a number of years (Spain, Italy etc...). For me I am bored of the whole match experience. I will keep going to home matches as I dont think i can break away completely but away days are no longer that great for me either (which is why I am not going to Brum, and have turned down coroporate tickets for Liverpool)..... I think thats why everyone went to the Euro aways as it was something different and recreated that old match day experience that we all loved and have lost. WWays travel may change this next season....only time will tell.
