He dived before he got booked when the ref gave a free kick on the edge of the area and in the 27th minute he shaped up to dive and then remembered he had been booked and changed his mind.

It was not an easy chance, he had to get in front of the defender, get the touch right and finish, all at speed

 

He did all three but the keeper had come out and he saved it

totally agree that davies does seem immune from critisim just coz he sticks a foot in now and again...

no player is perfect, kev d also chases lost causes all day when vaz te shows the same commitment to go with his talent his misses will be treated less harshly, do you think they had chicken george doing the half time draw to make a point ?

yes, it was a easy chance (certainly for a seasoned pro - don't forget, he's still a young lad).

 

if folk are judging him as shite for missing that, lets rewind a few weeks Saha against Jussi - much easier chance, great save - it happens - move on. (Yes, I know Saha has scored a lot more, but again, seasoned pro against young lad learing his trade)

 

as for the dive, I personally thought the lad slipped, and this was verified by the ball boy right next to the incident, who also added there was a little bit of contact, which made him slip. case for a penalty? (not for me, and certainly, there was no appeal)

 

yes he has dived before, and has rightly been slated by Sam for doing so - Sam stayed quiet on this occasion.

 

I think the lad's got something about him.

 

given the choice of Vaz Te running at a defender and possbily creating something, or Stelios getting the ball, turning and laying off to a full back, I'd take Vaz Te every time.
