She paved the way for the prosperity and low unemployment we have now.

 

France and Germany avoided the pain Thatcher put us through but look at the state they are in - and things are only going to get worse for them.

 

Sadly, Labour are squandering the legacy they inherited. I am a traditional Labour voter but they took over a great set of circumstances and are slowly pissing them away.

does nt the pm have to go to the queens house and been asked to form a government ?

Think the losing PM goes to the Queen to formally resign.

 

Then the new PM goes to the Queen and like you say, they're asked to form a government.

What if the outgoing PM goes to The Queen and says 'you can f??ck off, I'm going nowhere' and then makes his body go all dead weight so no-one can shift him out of the corridors of power? It's probably best to cut out the middle man and let The Queen rule all on her own.

What if the outgoing PM doesn't even bother going to the Queen and just locks himself in 10 Downing Street and starts offering other countries out?
