and emre a flop?? dont make me laugh! we paid ??6m for dyer 8 years ago, so i dont think he can be counted, and owen has just been unlucky with injuries, his goals to game ratio is the best in the league, as it was for madrid last year.

you have been pro this transfer all along, are you now having doubts about the quality of johnson? i can tell you he is nowhere near a 8.5 million player, the only benefit could be the transfer could be the catalyst to bring in Fortune, Meite and one or 2 other quality bosmans, 4-5 players and johnson for 8.5 million does not sound too bad.

I think there will be more money, maybe a couple of million. With Sam saying that he wants at least 6 players, i think he will get 2 or 3 on a free and 3 or 4 he will spend some money. I can't see him spending all our money on 1 player and expect to get 5 free players of a decent quality.

the point i was making was more to do with this being an important time in Big Sam's Bolton career because of the fee involved, if it doesn't pay off, we probably won't spend big for a long time, but if it does it could mean more money and more top signings - it's all exciting don't you think
