Two England supporters have been arrested for having their bodies painted with Nazi insignia at the side's opening World Cup game.

The pair, aged 21 and 24, from Bolton have been released on bail pending a decision whether to prosecute them.

A spokeswoman for the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) in Germany confirmed the fans had been arrested in the Waldstadion in Frankfurt.

But she said no personal details would be released about the pair.

The men were arrested as England beat Paraguay 1-0.

They are accused of daubing the symbols on their bare torsos. Displaying Nazi signs is an offence under German law.

The men were released after paying a surety and allowed to remain in the country but could be prosecuted later.

Both my grandfathers fought against that very symbol, I wouldn't do it anyway [-X

done by folk who only understand the de-scencitised version of the implications of the symbol....

i mean we all know its not a good thing,

but how many of s can truely appreciate the insult and offence that it could cause to folk around at the time.

stupid thing to do, but i bet they thought it was just a severe ribbing, rather than sick.

In the end the offence is caused to the people here who defeated the nazi fuckers - eg me dad is still knocking about and he was at El-Alamein and didnt do that just so some daft kunts from his country could display that shite. But the problem in this case is that its offended the Germans - to which I would say "tough shit". If you didnt want to get offended you shouldnt have embarked on a campaign that killed 50 million people should you, you sad sick kunts

two points

1 is that its nowt to do with offending - they've broken a national law

and 2 i don't feel bad about things done in the past by the british nation - so i don't see why germans of my generation should be held accountable/be seen as fair game cos of the actions of idiots 70 years or so ago

Two England supporters who were arrested in Germany for having Nazi insignia painted on their bodies are due in court in Leeds on Tuesday.

The Crown Prosecution Service is applying for football banning orders against Kristopher Phillip Dunn, 23 and Gordon Thomas, 21 from Bolton.

They were deported to Britain after being arrested by German police during the England v Paraguay match.

The men were arrested by UK police on landing at Leeds Bradford Airport

A Crown Prosecution Service spokesman said: "Both men had daubed Nazi symbols on their bodies.

"Wearing such banned insignia is not only a criminal offence in Germany, but is considered to cause deep offence to German people."

The men were arrested at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt during the England match.

1. They probably think that the RAF are from Bolton.

2, It is only one small step from wearing the bomber t shirts & Gerry White Helmet to daubing some insignia on their beer filled bodies.

3. They are daft , not bad.
