Oasis Pre-definitely Maybe

Featured Replies

Remember listening to a tape a mate of mine did at the Guild Hall, Preston a few weeks

before Definatly Maybe came out! Sound was shite but Oasis were good and raw :good:

That would have been the outdoor show in Avenham Park supporting the Boo Radleys.

Was a good gig, got it on tape myself somewhere.

Went to that, the train back to Bolton was a bit hairy. Liam wasn't happy having cans thrown at him.

I saw them as Rain pre-Noel and they were fcuking sh1t.

Saw the Inspirals there too.

The old bandstand there was finally pulled down at Easter this year.

That was the Thursday night, supported by a young Shed 7.

Nope he stopped the gig and walked off.

They did a signing as well before the gig, I missed them but have a signed Boo Radleys poster somewhere.

:D

Rick Witter's currently doing a tour with his new band.

Can't imagine them being up to much.

Actually, I've seen them a couple of times but can't make the December gig. It's half Shed 7 greatest hits/ half new stuff, the bassist was in The Seahorses and is pretty good.

I could have have gone to this one:

at the Joiners in Southampton when I lived there and was about 15 mins walk from that boozer.

But I didn't.

But one of them staggered down past the boozer when were in drowning our sorrows after losing to Watford in the playoff at Wembley in 1999 - 5 years after that previous one.

I should have said summat profound.

But I didn't

I was leathered and pissed off

I've got one of those too. I just missed out on a signed shakermaker cd but was chuffed to bits with my signed Boo Forever poster! I don't think I'd heard much about Oasis at the time. I also seem to remember getting a signed 7 " single from some band called Back To The Planet

When I was at uni, I lived 2 mins from The Mill in Preston. In a 6 month period, I missed The Verve supported by Oasis and also Pulp. I did catch Elastica supporting Kingmaker though, so all wasn't lost.

Watching us draw 1-1 with West Brom at home (you're not boinging anymore) and then making it back for Therapy? isn't something you could do these days.
