Me personally, i didn't think it was that bad of a game(well 2nd half). With a little bit of luck we would have won easily.

I've seen Bolton dominate games like that before & lose, so I'll take a point from last nights game, regroup & go for the throats of Watford & Fullham.

6 points from those games & were back on track.

The Ref was Shocking, our play in the final 3rd was a bit poor & our finishing was a let down.

But the pressure in the 2nd half was exciting in parts & like I've said before, with a little luck we could have won.

The club shouldn't need to do any more than it is doing to get all fans going to games. All we can hope is that the club reduce prices for the start of next season and attract new fans, with new enthusiasm.

 

As we come to the end of the transfer window, it is our fan base that is more in need of 'freshening up' than the team.

well said, it is the town of bolton that needs to wake up before the club loses its premier league status and the club goes into 40 years journey through the lower leagues, this time we wont come back to trouble the elite of the football world, and if we do i will be 82.

22,000 Bolton fans attending on a Wednesday night against Charlton is probably the best effort this season.

Last night's gate was higher than Man City on a Saturday afternoon which would be unthinkable if the prices were the same for both matches.

 

Even in the 2003/04 season when the home section was full for around half the matches,we only got 23,098 against Charlton.

As that link shows we had the 12th highest crowd average that year. But that average was "only" 23,200 - basically last night's crowd if there'd been a half decent away following. As an aside, interesting to note that only 10 of the 22 in division 1 that year are now also in the top flight. Also fair to say that attendances at many have risen.

But in the end, are we really saying that had the "missing 3000" turned up that would somehow have changed anything? I think not. Don't forget that one of the most potent atmospheres any of us can remember - the Wolves playoff at Burnden - was achieved with about 17k Bolton fans. On that note it is worth mentioning that at exactly the time when a bit of atmosphere and backing started to kick in, the orange warriors were straight into the ESL to quell any sense of enthusiasm. Also noted some brave stewards going along the back row of the 150 Charlton (and though we can slag of their numbers, the fairest of fair play to them as made the journey) fans and giving someone what was undoubtedly a final warning - despite the fact that he was on the back row and thus standing up in front of concrete. Did he do the same against the Filth when 1000s of them were standing up? Did he fu??k. Cheap thrill for him against a few dozen, bottle time against a few thousand.
