Chris Foy

With Jussi still in attack mode and the rest of the team dying on their collective arse, there has surely never been a clearer goalscoring opportunity than the one Anelka denied.

He'll probably get binned off to the Championship for failing to correctly apply the laws of the game.

not seen the reply but im told anelka got the ball.

for the record, when you ever expect anelka of all people to be last man chasing back, feckin great effort by the sulk frenchman!

Tackle from behind....well he wrapped his lags around him....he did connect with the ball.

Yellow seemed about right, it wasnt anything too bad.

I say a replay this monring, and he did just touch the ball, but it was a tackle from behind which is illegal anyway, so it was a penalty.

As mentioned by Homer, I was amazed that he had got all the way back...................."Fighting for the Cause" =D>

it was a penalty.

If it was in the area.

Which it was

So Pablo what was your take on the game, interesting to hear what a neutral (of sorts) thought of it?

The liner on the ESL wasn't very much in favour either, saw a few coins get lobbed at him when the third goal went in.

Which it was

I didn't think so (you might have gathered!).

I thought the initial contact was just outside.

Either way, a red card would have been reasonable.

I only watched the last 10 mins of extra time...so not enough to form a realistic opinion.....Bolton pushed forward leaving massive gaps, Arsenal could have had 3 goals in that 10 mins a I saw.

I don't want to have a dig at the ref because I don't think he affected the result but.. For all those that have seen it on TV

a) Was the first penalty a penalty he seemed to get the ball from where I was.

B) Was the anelka penalty not offside in the first place.

c) Was the third goal offside, It looked to me when it was passed around jussi that he was offside.

d) Did any of the penalty claims warrant a penalty, i'm thinking of when Anelka got pulled down in the first half, and campo's dive looked like contact.

A great game in all, could have gone either way, Arsenal deserved it on the whole but Campo at right back showed in the first half, he didn't do too bad of a job though.

Campo's dive was pure comedy!!! ::::::::lol::::::::

Looked like it from where I was stood.

penalty was enough in my opinion just a shame they crap at taking them..baptista had a shocker infront of goal last night though suprised he took the penalty thought freddie would have taken it

did almunia trip stelios?

wasnt a penalty he just caught him when he was rolling out of a save nothing he could have done about it

Aboslutely, definitely, not offside.

Irrelevant anyway at that stage.

a) Was the first penalty a penalty he seemed to get the ball from where I was. He got a toe on it, but you could understand the referee thinking he hadn't.

B) Was the anelka penalty not offside in the first place. Yes

c) Was the third goal offside, It looked to me when it was passed around jussi that he was offside. No - he was behind the ball

d) Did any of the penalty claims warrant a penalty, i'm thinking of when Anelka got pulled down in the first half, and campo's dive looked like contact. No.

3rd goal wasn't offside - Adebayor was behind Baptista when the latter played the ball

Anelka's challenge from behind was a foul - don't know if it was just inside or outside the box

TBH may have touched the ball but if so it was a very light touch and I don't blame the ref for giving a pen

Almunia didn't trip Stelios

I think the ref had a decent game - slagging him just deflects from what was a cracking cup tie.

campo was laughing after he got booked was a poor attempt at a dive was a little bit of a contact but his dive was awful!! worth a try though

i thought the ref didnt give us a thing from where i was sat in E S L

the wonders of the T.V eh

think most people in the ground thought he give us nothing but after watching it on tele again shows he actually made some good decisions

foy did not have a good game, regardless of penalties and offsides

diaby was guilty of at least 7 or 8 fouls

he should've been booked early on, and then he's way less effective

think most people in the ground thought he give us nothing but after watching it on tele again shows he actually made some good decisions

i never questioned the refs performance to be honest.

fact is we were quite good enough on the night, which is no great shame against that arsenal team...
