Gumbo Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 The time has come where i feel our regular three midfield players cant be in the same side together. We cant afford to keep losing possesion high up the field with no midfielders able to get back. This case became clear on saturday when Park scored two and Carrick should have scored. In their own individual ways i think that Campo, Speed and Nolan are quality players! Views???
HomerJay Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 i think the season is catching up with speed. but at the end of the day, form is temporary.
Pablo Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Individually its not the best is it, but as a 3, they have been nothing short of superb! Lucky c?nts!
Burndens Bogs Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 i think the season is catching up with speed. but at the end of the day, FORM IS TEMPORARY. Age is not, unfortunately.
frank_spencer Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Individually its not the best is it, but as a 3, they have been nothing short of superb! Lucky c?nts! Give me Arteta or Cahill (fokking coont that he is) over nolan any day of the week. Get a decent holding player in there and thats a very tasty midfield 3
HomerJay Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 cahill is average, fernandez is the man, fookin awesome that lad!

Views??? they can be in the same side together, just that the season has caught up with them, they're prob the three most regular players we have nolan has been a big let down this season too, this was first spotted in a rather insightful wways boro match report back in september as i recall
Pablo Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 cahill is average, fernandez is the man, fookin awesome that lad! Cahill is a very average midfielder minus his goals.....but aint that just like Nolan....BUT we play cahill in fron of a midfield 4 and behind Johnson....in that position, he is superb. Fernandes is superb.....NOT A CAT IN HELL'S chance of us getting him perm. BUT.....I didnt mention anything about my team. Its your 3 that we are talking about, and Speed and Campo for me are has been's you will struggle to replace them.
magic legs Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 So... the time has come has it not? Campo is suspended the next 2 isn't he? I'd like to see Faye, Teymourian and one of Speed or Nolan as the 3. We need some legs in there desperately.
Guest as Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 We're going through a bad patch. I'd f?cking hate being stuck in the trenches with some of you depressing f?ckers.
Gumbo Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 So 'as' when have we been depressing in this thread?
Pablo Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 So 'as' when have we been depressing in this thread? Ignore him, he has holiday blues, as some tart wouldnt sleep with him after he put half his holiday time into her.
Gumbo Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 Ah maybe he's a little upset because he's worked harder at that than our midfield did last saturday? Play him some Radiohead, that should do the trick!
Gumbo Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 If thats your opinion Horwich go for it, explain
Guest as Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 (edited) Ignore him, he has holiday blues, as some tart wouldnt sleep with him after he put half his holiday time into her. Fit as f?ck teenager too, and it was more like the whole holiday I'm saying that everyone (and I'm talking football fans across the country here) are so fickle. We're playing badly, and our midfield was embarrassed by the best team in the country on Saturday. Yet they've somehow managed to put us in the Euro qualifying spots all season, it must be luck - they must have mis-hit every pass, fluked every cross & attempt at goal then. Players like Campo, Speed & Nolan are more than capable at this level - yes, they've been having a bad time lately, but that happens to everyone. Some of the sh?te posted on here recently would indicate that all three aren't up to it anymore Edited March 22, 2007 by as
Zico Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 We're going through a bad patch. I'd f?cking hate being stuck in the trenches with some of you depressing f?ckers. will let you off given you don't go every week but part of the bad patch is down to the midfield 3, the season has caught up with them, much as it did last year - paper thin squad etc Nolan has been poor most of the season, and as the season has caught up with the other two, it's becoming more apparent that some are in need of a rest whilst others a run out we're not calling for alladyce's head here, but the bad patch needs addressing and unless the current 3 are rejuvenated overnight, changes are required this midfield 3 did great up to christmas when our position in the top 5 was cemented, but it's no coincidence that since the turn of the year, our levels have dropped as have the performances of these 3, and our hold on a euro place is under threat
Horwich Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 If thats your opinion Horwich go for it, explain Anelka said in todays paper he is happy with his goals, as its not easy playing up front alone. That would have me believe that we play 4-5-1
Gumbo Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 Is Davies not up there with him? You could therefore discuss we now also play 4in midfield ie Blackburn at home
Horwich Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Don't think Davies has played the same role as he has in past seasons.
YATESY Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 For me two of these will not feature too much next season. I expect Teymourian to start most games plus the lad from FC Zurich to be the new holding player. IMO that leaves one space in the central midfield three for the 07-08 season.
Gumbo Posted March 22, 2007 Author Posted March 22, 2007 Thank you Zico for trying to make it clear to those who seem to have got the wrong end of the stick. As mentioned I think that Campo, Nolan and Speed have been supurb, not only up until christmas but for season upon season. A combonation of other teams working our system out and the 'midfield 3' underperfoming as a unit in recent weeks has coincided with some very poor results. This bad run will be put right against Sheff Utd im sure and i expect for sure that that 3 will not play together in that unit in the next game.
mickadoo Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 What about O Brien, he'll be back next season. I feel like I'm the only one who ever mentions him, he is still there!
