You might say that now, but if it were us in the final. Would you be happy if we were playing our full strength team, in a competition that we had nothing to play for, with the chance that, Anelka, Diouf, Miete, Faye could get injured and as a consequence we lose the final.

And to me it still looked a very strong side, Bellamy, Fowler, Pennant, Sissoko, Alonso, Reina. I wouldn't mind a few of them players.

so how do they get away with it if they played a 2nd division team in the f.a cup they would get fined it stinks as does the fact that mr brooking is laughing his cock of at the fact his beloved hammers havnt had points deducted for breaking the rules its the old f.a rule it depends who you are ! as to which rules apply !!!!

Benitez has a squad of 30 ish players not 16!

 

He is allowed to field who he wants when he wants!

We don't moan when we play a load of reserves in the Carling Cup!

 

It is impossible to play your full strengh side for every game.

I'm of the same opinion of Dunster. A manager can pick any 11 from his first team squad and it's nobody else's buisness. A few years back I remember Port Vale getting all excited about drawing Man U in the League Cup but then moaned like hell when Ferguson rested most of the big names. It's the manager of the club that picks the team not the opposition.

 

From top to bottom every team in the country does this now.

Therefore, they are all considered first team players. Mr Benitez is well within his rights to select Doris the tea-lady if she's been registered.

It'd say the team the waiter put out on Saturday would finish top half in the premiership over a season. Not exactly a bunch of inexperienced kids were they!

This thread wasn't meant to be anything about BWFC, it was about Benitez fielding reserve teams for the run in - and therefore changing the outcome of the Prem table.

Liverpool have nothing to play for in the League. They don't want the likes of Carragher, Gerrard, Garcia, Kuyt and Crouch getting injured before the CL final. That game is worth more to them than an away fixture at Fulham.

 

If I was a Liverpool fan, I'd be happy enough that the manager was doing what he could to ensure he has his strongest line-up fit and well for the CL final, even if if cost a place in the league and the loss of a few points.

Fair shout, but my original point was- it does affect the Prem table, Pompey and Fulham beating a weakened Liverpool side in the last 2 weeks, and IF Charlton can get a win toneet - they won't be petrified of going to Anfield on the last day.

As I said before Benitez is allowed to field any team he wants!

 

It is mission accomplished for Liverpool this season.

 

If we were in the FA Cup final in 2 weeks and we had european football secure for next season would you want us to play our full strengh side and MAYBE get injuries to Anelka, Davies, Jussi etc etc? I DON'T THINK SO!

 

There is 1 game left this season and if we don't get into Europe this season it will be OUR fault and NO ONE ELSES!
